Step 1: Provide Medical Examination Reports
The patient or their family first submits all relevant medical documents to the Chinese medical team.
These materials usually include:
- Recent imaging results (CT, MRI, PET-CT, ultrasound, etc.)
- Previous treatment records (surgery notes, radiotherapy/chemotherapy history)
- Pathology reports
- Medical history summary from the local doctor
All documents can be sent electronically through email or encrypted file transfer. The hospital’s international medical department will confirm receipt and verify that all necessary information is included.
Step 2: Chinese Hospital Provides Medical Evaluation and Cost Estimate
After receiving the reports, a multidisciplinary team (including CyberKnife specialists, oncologists, neurosurgeons, and radiologists) will review the patient’s case.
The hospital will then provide:
- A preliminary treatment recommendation
- Confirmation on whether CyberKnife is suitable for the patient
- An estimated number of treatment sessions
- Expected length of stay in China
- A transparent cost estimate (including examination fees, treatment fees, hospital stay, and other services)
If needed, the hospital may request additional scans or information to ensure an accurate assessment.
Step 3: Invitation Letter Issued for Visa Application
Once the patient confirms their intention to receive treatment, the hospital’s international department prepares and issues:
- A formal medical invitation letter
- Hospital registration documents
- Proof of treatment arrangement
These documents are used by the patient to apply for a Chinese medical visa (typically an “M” or “S” visa) at the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate.
The hospital team can guide the patient through the visa process and provide support if additional documentation is required.
Step 4: Arrival in China (Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport)
Upon arrival at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, the patient will be welcomed by:
- A dedicated medical vehicle and professional driver
- A bilingual translator familiar with medical terminology
The team will assist the patient with:
- Airport pickup and luggage handling
- Transport directly to the designated hospital
- Hospital registration and paperwork
- Admission procedures and room arrangements
Throughout the process, the translator remains with the patient to ensure smooth communication.
Step 5: Treatment Phase – Professional and Personalized Care
During hospitalization, the patient will receive:
- One-on-one care from a dedicated nursing team
- Full support from CyberKnife specialists, oncologists, and radiation physicists
- Detailed treatment planning using advanced imaging
- A personalized CyberKnife treatment schedule
The hospital will provide:
- Continuous monitoring of the patient’s condition
- Daily check-ins from doctors
- Medication and supportive care
- Translation assistance during every consultation
The medical team ensures that the patient feels safe, comfortable, and well-informed throughout the entire treatment period.
Step 6: Discharge and Return Home (or Optional Guangzhou Travel)
After treatment is completed, the hospital will:
- Conduct a discharge evaluation
- Provide medical documents, follow-up instructions, and digital copies of imaging
- Arrange transportation back to the airport if the patient is returning home
Alternatively, if the patient wishes to stay in Guangzhou for sightseeing or recovery:
- The hospital’s international service team can assist with local travel suggestions
- Optional arrangements such as hotel bookings, translators, and city tours can be provided
